Andrew, you have a very good point there.

So far I had been passively using adsense which suited me well since this is not my full-time job.

Income is growing but is still far from my original target for this year. Which is why I'm looking at other avenue, such as affiliates.

Thanks for sharing the insight.

Hi Ken,
Your results are a function of your business strategy.

If you have the button there for people to click on, obviously your conversion will be very small.

But consider this.
What if you did a PDF guide on how to use picasa.
The picasa download link was your affiliate link.

you did an installation overview, plus gave some tips.

On the last page, you include links to resources that others may find useful. These could include mozilla firefox with google toolbar, the web accelerator pack, etc.

you could also do guides for these other items.

I think if you do it right, you could generate $5-10 per person.
and if you distribute it virally, eg. refer a friend campaigns, emails campaigns, you could have a huge number of sign ups.

but it depends on your overall strategy.
if you're depending on adsense then this is complementary.

if you're focusing on affiliate marketing, like me, then i'd say forget it, cos the affiliate payouts are starting at abt $5 and going upwards of $100.
