Is your Reader your Customer?

seekingrevenue.com51040.gifIf you run Adsense, who is your customer? Obviously the one that clicks on the ads.

Now, is your reader also your customer?

Think about this for a moment.

  • Think of a blog that your visit often
  • Think of your typical visit
  • If the blog has Adsense, have you ever clicked on it?

The answer for me is “No”. How about you?

Which leads me to this conjecture:

Your reader is not necessary be your customer

What am I getting at here?

While we often hear the advice content is king, I will add reader is not necessary customer.

Do not get me wrong. This does not implies readers are not important. They are very important. Readers alone is just part of the number game – the more readers you have, the more chance someone will click on the ads.

What I am saying though is “Your readers may not be necessary be clicking on the ads

Again think about this.

  • Once google analyse your site, the ads rarely change.
  • Your regular readers will be seeing the same thing over and over. Will they click?

How do you write the content and get readers to click on those ads?

This not an exact science. I be will sharing some ideas and discoveries as we go along.
